the new house....

so here are a couple of before and after shots... this first couple pics of the gorgeous striped wallpaper is going to be our bedroom.... it is coming along- slow but sure!

this is the laundry room, very conveniently located off the kitchen, again notice the original gorgeous striped wallpaper....

and finally we have the lovely bathroom. its amazing what some chocolate brown paint can do!?!

we even put max to work.... actually every time we turn around he has a roller in his hand and looking for something paint.
this blue room is max's playroom:

as you can see we have been spending most of our free time at the house, trying to fix 'er up abit and make it feel like "our home". we are getting there, a couple of rooms have gotten a little bit of a face lift w/some fresh paint and a couple of rooms have been altered with some heavy hitting machinery, (bubba, dad, mark and mark being the machinery). walls have been knocked down and re-built as well as a ceiling or 2. we are hoping to get in ASAP, we will see, until then here is a look at some of the progress.

Easter

Happy spring!!!!

so we celebrated another easter with max and i have to say this one was more fun with him. he definitely got the whole easter egg hunt idea this year on his own. the weather did not really cooperate with an outdoor hunt, so we had it in my sisters living room. he of course, did not realize the difference, which worked out well. he has also realized match box cars do not come from plastic easter eggs, which is what he thought at this time last year. i'm also throwing in couple of updated photos of mom & dad and bri & bub(milt)....
the easter bunny left behind his little feet, which max
thought was the greatest thing.

then off course the easter egg hunt w/ our little "golfer in training"

the kid did pretty well, he left with more money in his pocket than i had in mine.

Grandpa

In memory of David Tavares Sr (September 18, 1928- March 29, 2007)
This man was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and many more things. He is my Grandpa and a wonderful man. We lost him to cancer this past week and he was laid to rest today. For any of you that may have been able to meet him, you know what a kind heart and soul he had for everything and everyone. I never heard him utter a negative word about another human being my entire life. He loved baseball, so it is very fitting that he was laid to rest today, the opening day of the 2007 Baseball Season. I recently found out that he liked Anne Murray. He enjoyed spending time making puzzles, which he devised quite a system for. He loved his family (every last member) and it was a big one- he has left behind his wife, my Grandma, 12 children, 33 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and countless others that love him and will miss him dearly.
